Evaluation Part 5

How did you attract/address your audience?

This kid was not too sure about the film and completely missed the concept of the film. Suspense was not built throughout and he just simply was not amused by it.

This teenager was much more drawn in by the opening and did feel as though suspense was built throughout. He commented on the music adding that he found it scary which was one of the ways in which our group attracted our target audience by using a sound that was innocent yet haunting at the same time. This contrasted to the 14 year old’s response as he was not amused to the music and clearly did not find it scary at all.

After capturing the reaction of a teenager (aged 18) and a younger teenager (aged 14), it is pretty clear who our audience are. Somewhere between children aged 15-19. As our group have rightly predicted, audience’s that are any younger than this age find it difficult to grasp the concept of the film. This teenager added how he would go and watch the movie in cinema too whilst the younger respondent did not seem too keen on watching it in cinema’s. The ways in which we attracted our target audience is by having aspects of thrill and horror. (We all know teenagers love horror). We also added elements of suspense as to what is going to happen next which only the teenage respondent was drawn in by.
