Initial research Part 2- What’s the difference between a Thriller and a Horror Movie?

One of my fave ways of defining the difference of Thriller and Horror is by saying Thriller premises very often *could happen* (in real life), whereas Horror premises are usually “larger than life”.

In my opinion I feel as if there is a thin line between a thriller and a horror movie for example, some would find Saw to be a horror movie because of all the gory detail that it goes into but others just see as just a thriller movie because of all the suspense it builds.

  1. This is not a detailed enough response; should identify the key conventions of each genre and outline similarities and differences. Give examples from different films to back up your points. Furthermore, the language is poor in your first paragraph; this is better: “The premise of a thriller…”
